Dunne in Talks with Villa

'RICHARD Dunne is poised to complete his £6m move to Aston Villa.

The Blues' longest-serving player and captain was at Villa Park on Thursday night completing a deal which ends his nine-year stay at City.'

We have to wait and see what happens in the next 24h as i have read mix reports from City and Villa about how far this deal has developed! It was inevitable he was set to leave after the arrival of Lescott, but it Will certainly a sad day when he leaves as he is a genuine City hero!

Ex city star and defensive partner of Dunne, Sylvain Distin has moved clubs today from Pompey to Everton, which is obviously the dunnsters former club!

More to follow!

So if he does come to Villa, what wil be getting? I used to think he was excellent but wasn't so impressed last season. Has he still got it and if so why are you getting rid?

He has good pace despite his size and when he's on form he can be brilliant! Big strong tackler!
But his ability on the ball is very poor, he simpyl boots the ball forward and can be quite frustrating if you lose possesion from that.

Last season was very poor for done, prone for the odd own goal and some generally poor defending cost us last season.

He's also not a very good captain, wasnt the ideal person you want to drive a team on if you go 1 down... city never recoved from going 1 down last season!

I'm not sure which dunne you will get sometimes he can be sublime, ie he marked torres out of game the next game he may struggle to deal with jason roberts! He's a very good defender, with less responabilty of captainship you should be getting a solid reliable centre half!
